His first book, Please (2008), was awarded the American Book Award, and his second book, The New Testament (2014), won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, and the National Endowment for the Arts. His poems have appeared in the Paris Review, Time, the New Yorker, and the New York Times, among others.
Born in Louisiana, Jericho Brown is now an associate professor and director of the creative writing program at Emory University.
